Our Services

Through a mix of in-person and virtual services, EAF and our partners meet each entrepreneur where they are, helping them to increase their capacity to start or grow their business.

We provide business technical assistance and training including small business workshops and advisory services that are culturally and linguistically appropriate and responsive to the unique needs of each entrepreneur.

We provide access to capital through affordable loans coupled with financial and credit education. Our loan products are tailored for those who are low-income, have little or no credit history, and are unable to access credit from mainstream financial institutions.

We facilitate market opportunities for businesses to sell their goods and services, helping them increase revenue, expand their customer base, and build business acumen.

Through business ownership, refugees work toward financial independence so they can provide for themselves and their families and contribute to their local economies and communities.

Our Loan Products

EAF’s loan products are tailored for those who are low-income, have little or no credit history, are unable to access credit from mainstream financial institutions, or are precluded from paying interest because of religious beliefs.

Readiness Loan: This loan product is typically no more than $1,000 with a maximum term of 12 months and assists entrepreneurs to establish, repair, or strengthen their credit score and prepare to access a microenterprise loan. Funds must be used for a business-related purpose directly linked to the microenterprise they are seeking to establish. Most commonly, entrepreneurs will use the loan proceeds to obtain training, licensing, or other certification required to operate their intended business such as a food handler license, driver’s license, or cosmetology license.

Gig Economy Loan: This loan product has a maximum loan amount of $20,000 and term of 48 months. It is intended for independent contractors and freelancers participating in gig economy opportunities. Loan proceeds may be used to purchase a vehicle to drive for Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Post Mates, or Amazon Flex. Gig economy opportunities allow entrepreneurs control and flexibility over their income earning potential. Some clients drive rideshare part-time to supplement their wage income or leverage the flexible work schedule to allow them more time to focus on another business.

Microenterprise Loan: This loan product has a maximum loan amount of $25,000 and term of 48 months. It is geared toward entrepreneurs who are ready and committed to starting, expanding, or stabilizing their small business. Loan proceeds can be used for working capital, inventory, supplies, furniture, fixtures, machinery, tools, equipment, minor building renovations, and/or leasehold improvements.
